After the invention of photography the purpose of art changed. Art didn¹t have to serve memory anymore. The goal, for some artists,
became showing that which couldn¹t be photographed, or even seen. This requires experimentation. My pictures are part of that experimentation.
Science and technology have continued to expand human vision. We can now see
images that glimpse the microcosm as well as outer space. Much of my artwork is intended to celebrate, indirectly, those expanded visions.
Most of my images are not illustrations or representations of anything. They are not
about anything that can be described in words; except, perhaps, color, line, shape and pattern. None of my pictures are meant to be specifically spiritual, (although the mandalas are inspired by Tibetan Buddhist tangkas.)
This artwork was created in Indonesia 1987-2005.
